Changes in the Executive Board of Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG

The last couple months since the merger of the Breitenfeld Group to Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG have been as intensive as they have been successful. Sales in the ingot and bar steel business sectors could be significantly increased in terms of value and volume.

As a result of this extremely positive development additional investments and the decision to further expand our special steel plant were made. These large-scale investments amounted to more than EUR 6 million and included a third electro-slag remelting plant with the appropriate infrastructure, such as annealing furnace, tilting device and an electrode welding plant.

These new investments secure the industrial location in St. Barbara and hence the jobs of our Breitenfeld Family with more than 300 employees.

As a Member of the Executive Board, Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Gerhard Hackl accompanied and shaped the technical area in this phase and has, since 2007, been contributing to Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG with his many years of international experience in the stainless steel industry. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Gerhard Hackl who at his own request will face new challenges is now returning to his university roots. As CEO of ASMET (The Austrian Society for Metallurgy and Materials) he will continue to work in the industry and thus maintain his connection to the Breitenfeld family. (Website ASMET)

Economist Mag. Gilbert Krenn (CFO since May 2017) will be the new CEO of Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG. Mag. Gilbert Krenn is accompanied by two new Members of the Executive Board. Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Graf succeeds Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Hackl as Chief Technical Officer, and Mag. Jürgen Frank strengthens the company as a Member of the Board responsible for sales. The new Executive Board of Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG is thus appointed from within the company.

Mag. Gilbert Krenn: "Our activities are about profitable growth with a focus on 100% security, stability and a positive work environment for our employees, as well as responsibility in all our economic activities and sustainability. The positive business development as well as the Award for Best Employer in Styria, Top 10 Employer in Austria and the TRIGOS Styria Award for exemplary and sustainable projects concerning the environment show that we are on the right track."

Glück Auf!
